Feeling Blah 09-15-21

I was feeling blah today.  I was still reeling over the money I shelled out for the new glasses I got on Tuesday.  There was a discount program at the place and insurance wouldn’t have covered it.  The reading strength was changed.   I had to use a credit card so I was also anxious over that.  The Doctor was pleased with everything else.  Unfortunately, my eyes were dilated until about 8 so that made me tired.

 

As I was leaving for the meeting last night the emergency squad pulled up and headed to Neighbor Mim’s unit.  I didn’t go over but I couldn’t help but start to cry.   I didn’t see her family there but if they were I didn’t want to intrude.  I had to maneuver around the fire truck because it was blocking me.  As I was driving towards the driveway some of the ladies I chatted with were watching from their prospective homes.  I felt guilty for not visiting Mim more than I have.  When I got home tonight it looked like her children were there.  I will wait until I see one of the others.

 

The ladies guild meeting went well.  My co chair had an emergency so she wasn’t there but things were in place for the membership list update.  I brought that home with me and I will add it to the list I have on the laptop.  I realized while there that I needed 6 bottles of the soda but President Pat didn’t seem to think so but JanetM did.  Happily there were little cans of soda in the on site refrigerator.  So all is well but next time I will bring six bottles.

 

Today was the mid day rally.  My friend Barb was supposed to pick me up at 11:40. She was late.  I was getting anxious.  I called her and she sounded like she forgot.  It had started by the time we got there but we joined in and it was for an hour.  I was back at the office before one. 

 

I split my time between scanning and the cd uploading and I was having some issues.  The site I use kept signing out quickly in the middle of the upload.  I had a lot of them to do this time.  I had to call KC to discuss some of it.  She is very helpful.

 

Today was the Midweek Hammonasset meetup.  I decided to go out there straight from work.  I thought I was the first but there were a couple of first timers that got to the jetty before I did. After a while there were at least 12 of us. I jumped in as leader and did what Gillion would do and have everyone introduce themselves and a couple of things that were either good or bad about their week.  It was really fun.  We stayed until 7:30 as the park closed at  sunset.  Some of our friends were unable to join us.

 

You could tell there was a storm somewhere off the east coast because the surf was hard and the wind was strong.  There seemed to be a couple of families doing a celebration at the beach.  They were dressed in conservative dresses and veils of sorts.  It was really nice.

 

On the way home I called Mama and we talked the entire ride home.  I told her all the news that was fit to print (attribute that to the NYTimes).  It was after 8 when I got home and finished our conversation.

 

As I was getting out of the car I noticed both cats were at the windows.  Tiger was up on the couch.  Sky was on the ledge.  Seeing Tiger up there meant to me she was feeling pretty good but then she has been up there a few times while I was sitting there in the past week or so.

 

I got the condo, fed them, and then got my own dinner and sat down to watch the rest of the NCIS marathon on WETV.  I am really glad it is now on several different channels and more than it used to be in the last few years.  I actually ended up falling asleep while watching the episodes.

 

As a result I didn’t work on the reservations for the weekend of JIm’s wedding.  Liz was able to find the b&B for me at a lower price. I will get it done tomorrow.  I just hope I didn’t mess it up earlier.  The site doesn’t recognize my number as a valid number.

 

Now I am going to bed...
