I believed This week was going to be as equally busy as in previous weeks. I made a dermatology, and I got an alert to sign up online. That was unsuccessful. The mammogram still needs to be scheduled, along with the endocrinologist.

I have my daily work, between the claim forms scanning, mail etc. There wasn’t much mail delivered but I have until Thursday to make sure all of it is up to date. We are having a bosses’ Day lunch on Thursday, and I bought soda on Tuesday

I got the scanning for refund requests all caught up. I have a few piles for the denials that are almost ready. Everything else is done.

It was very cold this week. I don’t want to pull out a heavy coat, but it is getting to the point where I may have to. It was cold in the office as well. Today GA sent out an email letting us know there was a call to fix it.

ON Friday is my echogram and then my trip to Allentown. I will be at their house by three.

Well I have some stuff to do because the vacuuming isn’t getting done tonight.

Left on Thursday just before  1030.  Made stops at the bank and dunkin donuts.   Then headed to the highway .   I took my regular  route.   Traffic moved pretty well.

There were brief moments I started to doze.  So I had to make a few stops.   The first was to a rest stop.got coffee in Greenwich.  I was not far from. NY  so got going.  I still had two more hours to go. As i got through NY into New Jersey. I had to pull over a couple times.   I finally made it to my brother and sister-in-law’s house by 215.

Janis Had text early letting Me know jim was going to be released to the rehab  sent that day.  She invited  me to come along.  By the time I got to their house it was decided I would meet them at the hospital.

So I got there probably by 2: 30.  He was still  In bed.  He was still having some issues with cognitive and memories.   I sat with him and chatted about  the Colonoscopy he mentioned to Liz earlier in the week.   He explained how the latest  fall happened.    Janis confirmed  it when we were driving home.

All the while the nurse was preparing for discharge to the rehab.  The Transport  came after Janis arrived maybe after 430.

We all drove together to phoebe  nursing care rehabilitation. In Allentown.   It is beautiful.   It has assisted  living Across  the street and long term Short  term Rehabilitation.   We dropped him off.  So that he could get settled in⁰

We went back around 7  to visit  jim until he got tired.  Then we went home.  Got ready for bed and did some laundry.

On Friday Janis and I slept  in .  Then we went to the waffle house at 10.  After that we went to see jim.  While we were there he was  being assessed for his care.   We drove around parts of allentown  .   We also went to a knitting store.   Then we ordered a late lunch early  dinner from panera and headed home to eat and relax.

We went back to see jim.  He was a bit grumpy.   He told us about the nursing staff taking care of his  arm that seems to Be infected.

We talked about lots of stuff.  He was still having some memory  issues  but it was better than a couple  days Ago.

Saturday Janis Had to go to work At weight watchers so I slept in a little then I went to see Jim.  Then we went to an apple festival  at Burnside plantation in Bethlehem.  Then we went back later in the day to See jim.

On Sunday we slept in but I got packed up. Then we went to see jim. We went in separate cars as I was planning on leaving by noon for home.  I did get gas before leaving Allentown, and then made a few stops on the way home.  One was the Phillipsburg IHOP for Lunch and a couple of pit stops.  There were a few slow downs one nearest the Gov Cuomo Bridge, and I guess the regular spots that anyone in the NY, CT area will know.  I did manage to get home by 4:30.

I will be returning to Allentown in mid October while Janis goes to rhinebeck NY for the Sheep and wool festival .  I am not sure if jim will still be in rehab or he will be home but I have offered to be here for him.

Of course going  down at thanksgiving.

Where do you go?  Camping? Friends houses’ resorts beaches?

Do you work on Friday?  I am .   Next year it lands on Friday  so I may take Thursday off

This past year I was invited to become a member of the New ENgland Regional/chapter Alumni Association of Linden Hall School for Girls.  In the months followed we had zoom meetings (that I ended up having to miss because of scheduling conflicts.

In early spring a few of the girls organized our first in person meeting lunch for June.  It was held at Michael’s Harborside Restaurant in Newburyport MA.  I drove up that morning while the others drove in from New Hampshire, Maine, Mass.  We spent the next couple of hours talking of our memories of our time at Linden Hall.

Near the end we got to discuss our goals and plans for the future of the chapter as we are the pilot.

We will be helping the alumnae association promote the school. We were told there is no hared Mary Dixon  Chapel.    If that's not working let  me know.  Doing this on my er. HaptE ThThe virtual  tour was an hour and let by a Debbie and one other lovely lady.  It showed the day students  lounge and the  beautiful organ.  Those of us in attendance shared memories and  asked questions.

There is a lot of interest  in other regional chapters  across  the country.

We have been given an assignment  if you will. We have to reach out to our new england sisters and encourage  them to join.  I have one for a class of 82 who lives in CT that  need to reach out too.

There are a lot of other activities coming down the pike for the Alumnae Association and although I am not going to be able to participate in all of them its nice to see.

On the road by 9:30.

The cats are fed and watered and medicated.  Liz will handle tonight, tomorrow and Sunday morning.  This will be the first weekend away in two years (not counting Easter 2020).

For the last week I have been mulling over when was the best time to leave by using the google maps and scheduling and it gave a pretty good indication when I arrive if I leave before ten. My hope is to take the normal route I usually take to visit PA.  That includes the Merritt to 278 over the Cuomo Bridge (formerly Tappan Zee).  Then 78 to where my hostess is.  I took a brief stop there to see what it looked like then headed to Jim’s.  I was really early.

Admittedly I was concerned that Google was going to insist that I go to GW Bridge but it didn’t and took me over the route I remember over the years and once I was on on 287 I was fine.  I was surprised to find an additional electronic toll booth had been built and wasn’t expecting to be paying anymore  on the way down.  I do expect a couple of Toll by mail invoices arriving over the next few weeks.

I headed to Jim’s and was greeted by my soon SIL.  Who I didn’t recognize!  Really???  I was really embarrassed.  We hugged, chatted and from there got ready for the wedding.  I showered after Jim got my stuff out of the car.  The others got ready and visited with Jim.  I also got to see at least one of the kitties.

We left for the courthouse around 3.  We parked down the street in one of the many parking garages in the city.  I already regretted the shoes and stockings I chose for the outfit.  I learned that was also the location of Janis’s new Job.   She didn't’ give us a tour of the place but it's on the first floor.

We had to wait outside the courtroom and many more of their friends and family came out.  I got to see James R (my nephew).    We were brought inside and waited for a bit.  My niece emily arrived a little later and was standing in for her father while Janis’s daughter (who could have been Emily’s twin) stood for her.  It was a short ceremony and I only took a few pictures and asked the kids to send me some.

The weather: Beautiful and sunny.  Chilly at first and maintained it for most of the day. It was mostly in the sixties and sunshine.  It got a bit chillier as the sun dropped though.

After the ceremony we headed over to their friend Shawn’s home for the reception.  It was a beautiful home on W Tilghman and it was an oasis from the busy street out front.   It was light fare.  Sushi, pinwheel sandwiches, shrimp cocktail, shrimp tortellini, fruit and a home made cake.

We were there until 8 when I had received word it was time for me to check in.  My hostess was to go to a meeting (I realized later it was work) by 9:30.  I felt so much pressure and a little resentment for pushing it but looking back it was my own fault.  When I arrived the keys were outside where she said they would be.  It turned out she waited for me.  She helped me take my stuff to the room where I would be spending the next three days.  IT was quite simple.  A dresser, a wardrobe made of cloth.  A bed (the bed frame was exactly the same one I have in my bedroom.)

Once I got my stuff in and moved the car towards the front of the house Elan left for a meeting/work.  I got unpacked and got ready for bed. Elena’s kitty cat came and slept with me for the night.  It felt like I was home.
