Last week the New England Chapter of the Linden Hall Alumnae had an informative chat with the Dean of Academics at Linden Hall School.  He shared about the classes the students are currently taking that include lots of college classes and others that interest them that are currently not being offered and they and they have made arrangements to get it done.

I found that interesting but something that concerned me was Katherine’s comment that we are still not getting enough people to join the New England chapter.  SHe is afraid we may not be continuing and that would be terrible.

This kickstarted me to contact Denise B from class of 1982 and see if she would be interested in helping the chapter.  I am not sure if she is though and maybe it will kickstart me into maybe contacting others in the state.

A few days later we received  a thank you  from the school for sponsoring Mt Gretna day.  I was unable to Contribute but there apparently was a substantial amount collected.  Mt Gretna Day is a day the entire School takes off in the fall and goes to a town (MT Gretna) that has fun things to do.  Skating, Food, games etc.  My memories are hazy now but I do remember some things and I am glad we went.

Katherine sent out email invitations for the final in person luncheon for the year.  Its up in Concord New Hampshire at the common man and these are the dates:

Saturday, November 11

Sunday, November 12

Wednesday, November 14

Saturday, December 9

Sunday, December 10

Wednesday, December 14

Unfortunately none of these dates work for me so I have already sent my regrets.  Why you ask? THe 11th is the celebration of Life for my coworker Denise.  Wednesdays I work.  I have meet ups the following week and its too close to other things I need to do here in the state.

I hope to kept being active in the group.  My hope also is that others join.

This past year I was invited to become a member of the New ENgland Regional/chapter Alumni Association of Linden Hall School for Girls.  In the months followed we had zoom meetings (that I ended up having to miss because of scheduling conflicts.

In early spring a few of the girls organized our first in person meeting lunch for June.  It was held at Michael’s Harborside Restaurant in Newburyport MA.  I drove up that morning while the others drove in from New Hampshire, Maine, Mass.  We spent the next couple of hours talking of our memories of our time at Linden Hall.

Near the end we got to discuss our goals and plans for the future of the chapter as we are the pilot.

We will be helping the alumnae association promote the school. We were told there is no hared Mary Dixon  Chapel.    If that's not working let  me know.  Doing this on my er. HaptE ThThe virtual  tour was an hour and let by a Debbie and one other lovely lady.  It showed the day students  lounge and the  beautiful organ.  Those of us in attendance shared memories and  asked questions.

There is a lot of interest  in other regional chapters  across  the country.

We have been given an assignment  if you will. We have to reach out to our new england sisters and encourage  them to join.  I have one for a class of 82 who lives in CT that  need to reach out too.

There are a lot of other activities coming down the pike for the Alumnae Association and although I am not going to be able to participate in all of them its nice to see.

Even though I am making progress with the mail I am still behind.  I am also trying to keep up with the claim forms but the printers have not been working since the upgrade.  So I have a couple of patients to scan to the rep.  I am also trying to keep up with CD uploading and it’s hit a snag with one of them.    Good thing? We have Monday off for Martin Luther King’s Birthday.

I almost missed the staff meeting and basically making sure we had our vaccines and boosters uploaded for them to have on record.  I did mine at lunch time.  Supervisor reviewed protocol for the time we can use (they pay for five days) it’s a one-time deal.

The printer that prints out the HFCA claim form was working by lunchtime so after the meeting and after finishing the CD uploads (yes I caught up with those) I worked on mailing out the claim forms.  I think I was done by 2:30-3 and right about then I got an email from Supervisor asking me if the printer was working.   I explained yes they were and the one claim form for one of our Reimbursement people was scanned to her (but she doesn’t have access to email as she and a few others took even longer weekend then I am.

I still have to finish the mail I was working on and sort it.  I still have to work on the Health logic correspondence as well.  Then work on everything else.  My hope is to go in early on Tuesday.  I will do the claim forms first and then the mail.

AT lunchtime I wrote another email to Attorney B2 to see if there was any progress made with Lawyer man 1.  I haven’t heard from him yet.   I am already preparing a strongly worded email to him if he doesn’t respond to this one.

It looks like I will have to do another sleep study.  The last one failed.  She is not sure what happened but it has been known to happen which it only recorded 59 minutes of sleep and that’s not enough so we scheduled another one for the 26th.  This time it will be in the lab in West Haven.  The follow up appointment was moved to February 15th in West Haven.   So I will come home and feed the cats and pack an overnight bag.  I am thinking I will take a personal day off for that week.

My fellow LH Alumnae continue to have a sad week.  One of my classmates lost her husband this week.  I don’t know the circumstances but I need to get her a card to her and her family this week.  There is an obituary finally for Mrs. Herr.  I learned many things from this obituary.  For Example she is also a member of the GFWC international organization.  She was part of woman’s club in Lititz.  I wonder if she attended any of the International conventions. I am trying to read up on Manheim.

OH and I discovered that my meetup friend Krystal was not in the Waterbury fire but this one.  I am familiar with the area.  I have been further North of there were there were some beautiful homes and such.

I had coffee tonight and surprisingly I am tired.  So I am going to take the hint and go to bed and listen to Profiles in Folk before falling  asleep.
