I have done it again

I have done it again.  I have gone weeks without writing in the blogs.  There is an app (when isn’t there an app?) that I tried to make notes on so I wouldn’t forget anything.  So yeah, did some writing but not where anyone can see it.  So I am going to do a bullet point and semi explanation.

*Work has been productive.  Contract negotiations continue.  I missed a couple of committee meetings.  We don’t have to wear masks in the office or outside.  Those in the clinics do (for obvious reasons).   

*Home is good.  Finally got the sofa bed and it looks gorgeous.  I also got a beautiful begonia for the stoop outside from David.  Still having a hard time getting pictures up.  

*Neighbors are doing well.  

*The holidays brought some long overdue family time.  First Nephew Chris and his family came up from South Carolina for visits.  Little Sophie and Aiden were great.  Teenagers Jason and Audrey are awesome.  

That weekend we celebrated the Birthday of my Nephew in Law Chris and America.  It was great.  

Even though I haven’t seen my sister much this past several weeks (I have messaged her or called her) there were times she has annoyed me with the head games (to what I consider abusive).  I recently found an article that reinforced my views on it.  I have not called her on it but I did share the article with Debra.

The rest of the family seems well.

**The kitties are the kitties.  Tiger has been limping lately and knuckling (a term I just recently learned) her front paw.  Took her to the vet last week and there are no blood clots or broken bones.  I had to give her some anti-inflammatory meds.  She has been eating okay, she will sleep in her regular spots.  She does hop up on the couch to sit with me.  Getting down a little hard.  I put the step stool by the bed again for both of them.  My regular vet sent me to a neurologist in Shelton and I made the appointment for this Thursday.  

Sky seems to be missing the target every other day.  I have learned that when he comes out and meows at me that is a signal to check the litter box (I do clean it daily and do the deep clean every other week it seems).

I think my health is good.  I did have a hard time breathing a few weeks ago with some aches and pains but I suspect it was things I ate (salt), I haven’t felt that in awhile.  Did my infusions, and the mammogram  came back fine. Getting a lot of sleep when I can.  Eating like I usually do.

Debra has been on vacation so we haven’t met in the last two weeks.  I had promised to write to her daily but that hasn’t happened.

The community service activities are okay.  I missed the DTC meeting last week but we have a municipal convention a week from Thursday.  We nominate people for the various offices for the municipal election.

The ladies guild has been meeting in person and without the masks.  I missed one of the General meetings but have been trying to get to the board meetings.  Last night we had the Executive Director of MAC speak to us about their activities.  

MAC is The Milford Arts Council here in town and  It's a Non-profit organization that supports all principles and forms of art.  They have a lot of plans post covid.  They have pop up concerts planned all over the city and will have a venue at Eisenhower park (its park here in town).

We are preparing for board elections and we will vote at our September meeting I believe.  

After all my complaining this past year about the nursing home they invited me back to do bingo.  I agreed quickly.  I was originally supposed to start on the 11th but got word from a fellow volunteer that it was delayed a week.  I checked with the Recreation Director but learned she would be out (via automated response to email) . I am not pleased that the Director chose this route to take.  She should have been the one to contact me and tell me that we were delaying it a week, not a fellow volunteer.  The woman has my email and my cell phone and I believe my work number any one of those would have done it.   She didn’t use any of them before leaving for vacation.  I hope I will not regret returning.

I have been enjoying some great activities with finding friends Meetup group.  We had a birthday lunch last weekend in Mystic, we have a Spa grand opening in Old Saybrook this coming Friday and of course the Weekly coffee chats at Hammonasset state park/beach.

I haven’t been doing too much with the Hiking groups.  They have had activities during the week that conflict with the Finding Friends for women group.  Not to mention my sleep.  Those are in the Manchester area.

My friend Joan’s group Walk Milford  is planning the annual Walk Milford challenge in September but she hasn’t had much for weekends.

The pen pals hobby has been great if I start answering the letters.  I have not had enough time or been too tired to answer them.  I haven’t been able to print out the snail mail letters because I am busy at work.  My hope is once I get the cat settled and other things settled I can get a home printer.  Either way I am feeling guilty.

I have spoken to Mama a few times. She is in FL this week.  I think she is with her sister.  I am not sure how that’s going.

Well I better get back to work...
