Everyone seemed okay

Well I managed to get a couple of hours sleep this morning and then got up and fed the  titans and then took another nap until 6:30.  Then I got ready for work but ended up leaving really late.  Got to work exactly  at 8. 

 

I was relieved to learn everyone from work seems to have come out okay.  AC lost power but expected it to be back on by mid-morning.  VanessaT and she were comparing horror stories from the same town.  A few others waited until the storm passed before heading out.  

 

Unfortunately I can’t say the same about Cheryl and Mike.  They have no power in their part of North Haven (it was hit pretty hard) so we can’t go looking at Condos this weekend after all.  I had sent her a few emails last night making initial plans and after chatting with Liz via email and text I contacted Cheryl and told her how sorry I was.    Next weekend is supposed to be better weather-wise so  I am open to starting it next week.  She did give me five possibilities if you remember.

 

So the texts and emails between Liz and I were about our plans for clearing out.  She will be here by 9 followed by Jr and his kids.  He is taking the shelves downstairs.  I had a conversation with neighbor Kim the other day she wanted them for her daughter's new endeavor called a horse trailer bar.  Anyway that will be a story for another time.   We thought in the morning would be better because she has grandma duty tomorrow night.  So I put one fan in the office to bring up with me.  I will bring the other one up tomorrow morning. 

 

We will be working on Sunday as well.  I am not sure what time.  I think she may have said in the morning as well.  If that’s the case I can do grocery shopping then.  I also need to put some effort in getting rid of papers and putting things for journals and diaries into some order.

 

So Shadow and I spoke today and resolved some issues that were bothering us.  I told her how I felt and apologized for anything I may have said or done.  So there won’t be a need to include the problems into the chat with Supervisor Christine next week.  She didn’t come in today.  I suspect it was because she didn’t have her tire repaired yet.  Anyway we received five crates of mail that our former courier service forgot to get recently and so Donna worked on that while I did the union thing and scanning.  I have two crates/totes of readdress mail to work on next week.

 

I went to the omni hotel rally today.  Unfortunately, I had to go there myself as my ride was cancelled due to a family emergency.  I was a little late and I almost decided to bale too but I promised and so I got my things and drove down there.  I wasn’t sure if I would find a spot on the street or had to park in the garage.  I saw some people I recognized and beat a drum (pail) and the Local 34 President came around  11;30.  I took the opportunity to share the news about the move.  I left there before 12 and headed back to the office making a stop at Mickey D’’s on Whalley.  I ate it when I got back to the office and got back to work.  It's fuzzy as to what i did (the refund scanning prep). 

 

AnnB came to pick up the cuckoo Clock after 1.  We had a visit until about 1:30.  We got caught up in the storm and talked about our cats and then about work as AmandaR joined us.  It was about then when my consciousness began to bother me.  I went back and finished the work.  It took until after 4 to finish this rather large batch. 

 

I left shortly after that and managed to get home after 4:30.  I sat down and relaxed.  The cats became indignant that I didn’t feed them right away.  I took the opportunity to refill the containers I have been using to store the food..  Once they were fed I made my dinner and watched tv.  I fell asleep at one point  and had some coffee but I am hoping it won’t kick in. 

 

I did put some laundry in because I don’t want it hanging out while Liz is here and want it done before the weekend is finished.  I am going to try and get up early and do more shredding.

 

I was so pleased to find another letter from Authoress51 in my mailbox this week.  I will be spending time this weekend writing to her.  We are definitely going through some of the same issues and challenges right now. 

 

But for now I need to get some sleep.
