Today was my first day back after 3 months because of the Corona Virus Quarantine and the State was in shelter in place. I have been waiting for this day for so long. I regretted my decision to stop working until we had to come back. If you remember the second week of the shut down my supervisor asked me to come and do the mail. I did until April 6 after being urged and cajoled by family and friends to not risk my health. So with the blessings of my bosses I stopped working. Proceeded to get bored and not do much.
I wasn’t sure what to expect. Well I knew there would be some changes for the social distancing and I wasn’t sure who would be in. As there were some objections from some of them I learned last week. I wasn’t sure how GA or Shadow would react to me coming back or my reasons for not working. Yes I know I shouldn’t care but both or one of them would question why. I was pleasantly surprised to find out she never question it. GA has been nowhere in sight.
Staff from Patti’s team, Ann’s Team, are all mingled in where credentialing, and RIA, and compliance are usually are. They get to work from home. There are a couple of people from my team who will continue to work from home so they emptied their desks. That’s a bit disconcerting (even though it was expected).
There wasn’t much mail to begin with when it did come I opened it and gave the statement mail to shadow. I did take the opportunity to thank her for stepping up for me while I was up. She did tell me that she was not stamping the date on the work. Its okay cause the batch sheet has the date. I worked on some readdress mail I saw laying around on the mail slots. I found myself asking Bob some questions that eventually sparked the cogs in the brain to get back into routine.
There were some technical issues that need to be rectified if I am doing any type of scanning, or managing my time card in Kronos. They all need updating or I need access to them.
I was exhausted by the time I left there. I was all set to go to the gym but once I got home and fed the cats and got changed and got on the phone with Miss Ann. We talked about the virus, work, and family.
Alex contacted me and I apologized but I got out late (I did) I was going to have dinner and then go for a walk. I told him all that I ate, and the steps. He told me to get 10K. I am almost there now. I went for a walk for an hour and about 5K steps. I had already did about 3k by the time I got home. I told Alex I would go to class before we meet.
Tonight though I need to get ready for work and get my lunch for tomorrow ready. I have laundry to do as well.
No not doing the taxes. Can’t keep the eyes open.
