Hoping for an easy day
My intention was to get up and get out early but that didn’t happen. Even though I had a great sleep last night and I did get up early I did fall back to sleep on the couch. Despite the cats best efforts to get me up. We did the morning routine and I left the house by 7:30. It was over cast and cool temperatures. I was glad I wore my rain slicker.
I managed to get here just before 8 and getting set up for the day when I decided to go talk to IT guy about the headset delivery. When I got there I saw my friend Supervisor Jackie. We talked for a good long time. I actually told all that went on. I realized when I saw Supervisor Bob’s office lights on it was time to get to work.
The first hour I did EOB scanning and there wasn’t much to do but I was expecting it will be full by the end of the day. I was very surprised it wasn’t but I worked on the Refund scanning backlog until the mail came. I worked on the mail until about 2 or so and did some readdress mail but didn’t send it out.
I did go for a walk at lunch time with Claudette and Becky. Before we started we stopped and ordered some lunch on the way back. I decided to try and eat right as I had been snacking on candy and coffee for most of the day. I ordered a house salad and it was good but it didn’t wipe away all the food I did eat prior or after.
After work I went to Aldi’s and went shopping. It took about 30 minutes and I managed to get almost everything on the list and got stuff I am pretty sure I could have done without (like ice cream sandwiches, extra cereal). I spent about $58.00.
I was home by 5 and unloaded the groceries and fed the cats and had my dinner. I watched TV for a while and readdressed a letter to a pal Lori in AZ. It came back with incorrect address so I checked it earlier and it has indeed changed so I updated my pen pal files. I hope she won’t mind that I got her new address from White pages. It’s ready to be mailed.
I also started a letter to Karyn in Colorado to ask her if she is safe from the wild fires. As the letter progressed I was also surfing the net and found out where the fires out there are in relation to her and it’s a day’s ride away. However, when I realized where it was my next email was to Mama.
The fires seem to be about two hours away from Denver. That’s where Mama’s daughter Miriam lives and works. In the email I asked if it was close to Miriam and could they see the smoke or the flames from the fire. She hasn’t answered yet. I may have to ask Jim about Kris.
I heard from my gym buddy De tonight. She eventually told me Trainer Alex was leaving the gym or had already left. It took three requests for her to tell me. As I was browbeating her I noticed Alex was on so I chatted with him. We talked about the progression of the house sale, the stress eating I have been doing, and he told me why he was leaving. He is going back to school! Now I am feeling guilty for not getting to the gym in the last several weeks. He has offered any advice if needed. At least we will keep in touch by FB. A part of me was sad because he is such a great friend. I wish him well.
Something is wrong with the cable system. The guide they provide isn’t showing up on the screen and I usually read the synopsis of anything I watch. I wonder if I should unplug the box and reset it. I did look on the website but there is nothing there.
I think its time for me and the kitties to say good night.
