The Storm hasn't started yet
Technically the storm hasn’t started yet but we got alerts that would break your ear drums yesterday about the storm surge, wind and flooding on the phone. At one point it looked like it was going to open up and pour buckets at work. It didn’t though. The sun was out for the rest of the day.
I stopped at Walmart and got some groceries. I got bread, Milk, tea, Vinegar. I couldn’t find the Baking soda I needed (they had the small ones). I will go to Shoprite later and get the rest of the stuff I wanted or needed. I also go some goodies. You can’t be in the middle of a big summer storm without goodies.
I did get the chairs back in last night and had trouble with the umbrella but on the third try it worked. I have to take the recycle out to the trash hut soon. I put it out behind the flower pot because I wasn’t ready to go out in public.
I spent the evening relaxing and went to bed at ten. When I woke up this morning I had no internet or cable until about 7:30. If this is Optimum’s view on keeping us connected didn’t do a great job. However, they may have been doing something to prepare for the storm so I will give them the benefit of a doubt.
So I am put zing around at the moment. I started cleaning around 10 and started wth the bathroom. I took my time. I figured since I am not going anywhere today (no to the Oyster fest) I would take my time.
I found out that the complex has been known to lose power for a few days during storms. Neighbor Mim’s daughter told me earlier today. If that’s true I do need to move along with the cleaning because it will be a few days before I can vacuum again.
Late last week I decided to leave the two groups on FB that I mentioned in my previous entry. It feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I did feel that I wanted to know what was going on with the cable this morning but it didn’t last long.
I went out and gassed up the car and within minutes it got busy. Several cars came also to get gas. The roads seemed to be the normal busy for a Saturday but I did hear that the stores are crazy. Well I really don’t think I need anything that much.
The latest word on the Hurricane is it will make impact tomorrow morning….
